News release

It's time to Step to It, Hennepin County

Hennepin County’s annual Step to It challenge kicks off Sunday, May 3, and runs through May 30. The fun, free four-week challenge encourages residents countywide to get active and to keep track of their fitness progress by counting their steps.

This year, 24 Hennepin County communities will engage in a friendly competition in three categories:

  • Most Active Community, for the most steps overall
  • Most Active Residents, for the highest average number of steps per participant
  • Most Engaged Community, for the highest percentage of participating residents

Register today

The Step to It Challenge draws thousands of people each year. People who live or work in the 24 communities can still register online at www.steptoit.org

The Minnesota Twins are back as the Step to It corporate sponsor. The top stepper in each community will win four Twins tickets and will be recognized at Target Field during a Twins game this summer.

Find listings of registration and challenge events at www.steptoit.org. Click here to view the video of last year’s winner, Lalit K. from Brooklyn Park.
