My first month serving as Chief Equity Officer was marked by a new tempo of federal actions and updates. Many folks have reached out to the Office of Equity, Opportunity, and Accessibility, sharing feelings of confusion, overwhelm, and even fear about what the rapid changes mean, and how their own lives could be impacted. Though we can’t always predict what comes our way, our work in Minnesota continues.
We envision a future where addressing barriers, sharing timely information, and putting people first is the expectation across the state. Now more than ever, transformative relationships with government are necessary to ensure everyone thrives. OEOA’s commitment to ensuring everyone has a voice is stronger than ever, and we build upon a shared legacy of progress.
Minnesota Leads the Nation in Data Informed Decision and Policy Making.
Evidence-based decision-making helps ensure we invest in programs and services that work to improve lives.
Ensuring Access to Opportunity is Compliant With State and Federal Laws.
Statewide initiatives prevent discrimination, promote respect, and celebrate diverse perspectives.
When We All Do Better, We All Do Better.
When people of all backgrounds are valued, feel welcomed and supported, and receive fair treatment including equal access to opportunities, everyone benefits.
I am proud to live in a state bold enough to stand firm on our values, and remain steadfast in improving the delivery of state programs and services with all of you.
