Minnesota's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped to 3.1 percent in November, the lowest monthly rate in more than 17 years.
The November rate slipped from 3.4 percent in October, even though state employers eliminated 4,000 jobs in November on a seasonally adjusted basis, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development said Thursday.
The state has added 34,566 jobs over the past 12 months, an increase of 1.2 percent, while U.S. jobs grew 1.4 percent, the agency said.

The last time the state's jobless rate was this low was July 2000, according to seasonally adjusted figures released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. It also was a decline from the 3.4 percent rate posted in October.

The U.S. unemployment rate was reported to be 4.1 percent in November. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) released the new numbers on Thursday.
