Hello! As another academic year culminates in celebrations and commencements, I want to take a moment to thank you for your interest in, and support for, the students of Minnesota State. It’s those students, and their earnest efforts to build a bright future for themselves, that make our work so worthwhile. Today I introduce you to one of our students and one of our alumni who has reached the pinnacle of success in her career.  When Life's Detours Lead You Back to College
Karen Beltran Lopez found herself unemployed when the non-profit she worked for closed its doors during the pandemic. She had always wanted to finish her college degree, so she took advantage of the career detour to enroll at Minneapolis College and is on track to get a degree in the high demand field of information technology.

 Alumna Makes History as 2022 Minnesota Teacher of the Year
Sarah Lancaster, a 2013 St. Cloud State University graduate, was named the 58th recipient of the Minnesota Teacher of the Year Award this month. She is the first person from Onamia Public Schools and the first teacher of Asian Pacific Islander descent to be named Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
