Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Celebration

PBIS in a school does not just happen. In order to keep it functioning effectively, it must be an ever-changing system which adapts to the needs of the students and staff. In order to do that, we have a PBIS Team that meets monthly to discuss issues that come up, incentives to motivate and celebrate expected behaviors, and to look at the data of behavior that has been reported through Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs).

At the monthly meeting on October 15, 2019, the team took a comparative look at the ODRs from September 2018 and September 2019. What we found was something to truly celebrate. Our September ODRs decreased from 50 last year to 30 this year. We thought that was exciting news worthy to be shared with our school community. We applaud all who have had a hand in teaching, reteaching, encouraging, reinforcing and PRACTICING positive behavior in our school.

WELL DONE -- WE ARE CENTENNIAL!!!

CEPO is hosting Bingo for Books on Thursday, November 7 from 6-8 pm. We are asking for gently used "school appropriate" books for ALL AGES to be donated. The books can be dropped off at the office between 8 am-4  pm. Use this as a time to clean off your bookshelves!  We'd love all types of books: fiction, non-fiction, story books, cookbooks, sports books, travel books, mysteries, autobiographies, science fiction, etc. Thanks, in advance, for your help with this event!

We need you! CEPO is looking for volunteers for events throughout the school year. Please use this form to indicate what you are able to help with. Thank you!

Please join us at our meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 5:30 pm in the CTE Conference Room.

New!  Process Art (ages 5-8)

Come explore art on your own terms. Various art materials will be supplied. What the end product will be is up to you! Every piece of art will be different. You will be an artist creating “junk art” with shaving cream, paint and more. Dress for a mess!  This class is held Saturday, Nov. 2 at Blue Heron Elementary.

Intro to Ninja (ages 6-13)

Young ninjas develop strength and agility during this course by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles. Increase flexibility, problem solving and coordination that can be transferred into ninja levels testing or enhance other athletic performances. This course includes open gyms, so you can practice what you learned during your class!  Next session begins Nov. 7 at Conquer Ninja Warrior in Blaine.

New! The Frozen Princesses (ages 4-9)

Inspired by the popular Disney movies Frozen and Frozen 2.  Spend your morning learning some new art techniques and enjoying the relaxation that it brings.  Create a sparkly, wintry castle scene featuring your favorite princesses.  This activity is held Saturday, Nov. 23 at Centennial Elementary.
