News From Kathy Kaiser

Overdue library books

Students who currently have one or more books that are overdue or missing from our school library will be restricted from checking out more books until the items are returned or paid for.  Parents should be receiving automated weekly email alerts with the book title and due date for overdue items, as well as personalized letters sent home with each student who has overdue book(s) listing the title(s), due date(s), and replacement cost(s).  We have quite a few students who are beginning the year with this restriction.  If you are unsure whether or not your child has overdue books, please contact your child’s teacher directly.  We have a wonderful library book selection and we want every student to enjoy reading!

Thank you!

Helpers Needed for PBIS Scavenger Hunt!

Are you available to help out from 9:30-11:10 a.m. on Friday, September 27?  If so, we could use the help of 12 parents at the various stations that make up the PBIS scavenger hunt.  No need to prepare – everything is ready for our volunteers and the kids love it!  If you are available and want to know more, please contact Principal Kathy Kaiser before September 20 at 763-792-5301 or  Thank you!

The Centennial Stroll is Coming!

Watch for information about the Centennial Stroll coming home on Friday. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and 100% of the money raised stays at the school. Donations are due on Monday, September 30th and the Stroll will be Wednesday, October 2nd. Every donation helps!

New box tops

Changes to the Box Tops Program

The Box Tops program is changing from "clip it and turn in" to a new mobile app based format where you scan the receipt for credit (within 14 days of purchase).

How does the new program work?

At its core, the program structure and purpose remain the same – to help schools get what they need.  The main difference is how you’ll earn – instead of clipping, all Box Tops will be earned digitally via receipt scan.

  • You’ll now download the new and improved, user-friendly Box Tops app
  • Register and select our school
  • Scan an eligible receipt containing Box Tops products.  You’ll earn 10 cents for each Box Tops product purchased plus extra earnings for any Bonus Box Tops opportunities.

The app will automatically add Box Tops to your school’s earnings online, giving visibility to see how you are supporting your school in real-time.

**You may continue to turn in clipped Box Tops to our school**

Opportunities for Nurse Subs

Are you a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN)? Do you enjoy working with students? Would you like to work the same hours your children are in school? If so, we would love to talk to you about opportunities to sub in our school health offices and/or go on field trips with students with health-related needs. Paid training is provided; there is no minimum amount required to sub each month. There are also opportunities to be a nurse sub with early childhood screening, which takes place once a month. CPR and First Aid certification is required; applicants must have a current nursing license.

If you have any questions, please call Michelle Noha, district nurse, at 763-792-5530, or email her at
