News From Kathy Kaiser

Welcome Back!

Most of you reading this newsletter have been out of school for quite a while, but try to take yourself back to what it felt like to have a mix of excitement and trepidation during the first days back to school each fall.  Our staff realizes that many students are probably feeling anxious as the school year begins and at Centennial we work very hard to support every child’s needs with respect, love, and kindness. We will also work diligently to challenge them academically and foster responsible behavior that will serve them for a lifetime.

Throughout the year, if you ever have a question or concern, please contact your child’s teacher first.  If you then need further assistance, please contact me.  The Centennial Elementary staff will do everything possible to assure you that your child will have an outstanding school experience.

Much research has been done to identify the critical factors for student success.  One primary factor is attendance.  Please do everything possible to see that your child is at school on time and ready to learn every day.  Additionally, please do not schedule events (family vacations) on days when there is school.  Learning gaps are sure to occur when students arrive late, leave early, and/or miss school days (except for illness).

In order for families to be on the same page with school expectations from the start, please make it a priority to go to our CTE website to review the Student Handbook and also the Guidelines specific to our school. Also watch for classroom newsletters, emails, and electronic communication containing information about what your kids are learning and upcoming events.

Thank you to those families who visited at the Ice Cream Social and Open House last Wednesday.  It was great seeing everyone!

Kathy Kaiser, Principal
