Message from the Principal....

Dear Centerville Parents,

Teachers used Monday as a parent communication/grading day and a lot was accomplished.  Report cards are finished so you can access and print report cards from Parent Portal at this time. If you need assistance logging into your parent portal account, please visit the help resources page on the parent tab on the ISD12 website at If further help is needed, you can call the CVE office (763-792-5802) or email Shannon Swanson at

On Tuesday morning staff took part in an access and equity training.  This component of professional development is a three year journey for Centennial.  This first year is focused on “Investigating and Exploration”.  We focused on exploring issues of access and equity, looking at different perspectives and honoring equity of voice, understanding our own geography of identification and finally we discussed how to have courageous conversations with peers.  We know we have a long way to go, but we are moving in the right direction.  Here is our Centennial School District mission statement regarding access and equity:

Centennial School District is committed to equity and access for all.

  • We will raise the achievement of all students while eliminating the predictability of academic achievement based upon class, race, gender, or disability.
  • We will implement culturally responsive teaching and leadership practices that reflect the contributions and perspectives of all people.
  • We will identify and address institutional barriers that perpetuate opportunity and achievement gaps.
  • We will foster inclusive relationships across all Centennial communities.

Have a great weekend,

Wayne Whitwam

The event takes place on the first Friday and Saturday of February and is made possible by the collaborative effort of the Minnesota Dental Association, volunteer dentists, and our generous sponsors. Please read the program newsletter to learn more about last year’s event.
