Message from the Principal....

Dear Parents,

Over 400 grandparents attended Grandparents’ Day at Centerville the Wednesday before Thanksgiving break.  You could see the excitement and the joy of families sharing time together.  Watching these interactions reminded me how loved students are and how blessed we are to have the opportunity to work with them each day.

Our book fair that overlapped with Grandparents’ Day was a huge success.  In fact, sales were nearly $12,000.  The school will receive nearly $3,000 from these sales to purchase books for our library.  A special thank you to all of the people who volunteered.  Especially Kari Letourneau and Jenny Farrell who have coordinated the book fair for the last 5 years.

Finally, I want to thank Cheryl Dettmer and all of the volunteers who make the passport club a success at Centerville elementary.  This is truly a unique program that helps our children better understand geography.

Have a great weekend!

Wayne Whitwam
