Message from the Principal....

Dear Centerville Parents,

I want to truly thank You for your support of the operating and capital levies for the Centennial School District. Your continued commitment to education is much appreciated. We are so grateful for your investment in our students and our schools.  Our district’s facilities will be set for the next 25 years and the operating levy will insure a quality education for the next 10 years.

As a district we will continue to visit with legislators and push for equitable funding for schools at the state level.  We still believe it is not right that the tax burden falls disproportionately on our residential properties in comparison to districts that have more businesses.

Have a great weekend,

Wayne Whitwam

Stargazing with Mike Lynch (families, ages 6+)

Get to know the constellations in the skies over Golden Lake Elementary.  Start with an exploration of Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus and some of their great stories.  Then go outside to gaze through large reflecting telescopes including two giant reflector telescopes that are among the biggest mobile scopes in Minnesota for close up views of star clusters, galaxies and other magic in the skies.  Mike will also bring a telescope-astrophotography system for really distant targets such as galaxies millions of light years away.  This is sure to be a rare, educational and fun experience for your family!  This activity is held Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Golden Lake.
