Message from the Principal....

Dear Centerville Parents,

Spirit day last Friday was a lot of fun! It was wonderful to see all the Centennial colors and Cougar wear! It was also great seeing so many of you at the homecoming game.

On Wednesday, parents should have all received an e-mail to sign up for conferences. If you have any trouble signing up for conferences please contact your child’s teacher or the elementary office.

I’d like to give a huge shout out this week to all of our Centerville families for supporting our Direct Drive fundraiser. Thank you for continuously investing in Centerville and making it a better place. Whether it was with your time or money, it’s greatly appreciated. Our CPTA supports many projects and events for our students. We are extremely fortunate!

This past Monday we had a staff development day with our teaching staff. We are implementing a new literacy program called Benchmark Advance. It is a forward-thinking approach to instruction. The new materials allow staff to provide a rigorous learning experience that requires the students to integrate their reading, writing, speaking, and listening into learning. Monday afternoon, the teachers received additional training on the technology resources that are available.  It has been fun to see it working in the different classrooms.

Have a great weekend,

Wayne Whitwam

Direct Drive Information

We are excited to announce that the CPTA will once again be having a Direct Drive for our fall fundraiser.  We continue to hear from an overwhelming number of families that they prefer direct donation over catalog fundraisers.  Donations will be accepted from September 24, 2018 through October 17, 2018.   Thanks to all the supportive Centerville Elementary families, this fundraiser has been a huge success the past several years.  The money that is raised in this fundraiser will be used for technology and school initiatives.

*  Every student who makes a donation (no matter the size) will receive a prize.

*  Every student who raises $50 or more receives a t-shirt.

*  Every student who raises $100 or more receives a limo ride.

*  The classroom that raises the most money will receive a pizza party.

After the first week, we have the top 3 classrooms so far:

Lisa Brown, Christy Hamblin, Stacie Ebnet Dietz

Below is the link to get all the information about the fundraiser.

Conference Potluck Sign-Up

Fall Conferences will be here Monday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 16th.  Because these days are very long for our teachers, we like to provide them with food, so they can grab a bite to eat before their evening begins, or during conference breaks.

Please use the Signup Genius below if you are willing to donate.  We would like all items to be at school by 3 PM on the day of conferences to give us time to set it all up.

Thank you for your generosity!

If you have any questions, please call Judy Montain in the office at 763-792-5804.
