Message from the Principal....

Education

Dear Centerville Parents,

Students and staff ended the week in spirit wear as we celebrate homecoming at Centennial.  I hope to see some of you at the football game tonight!

I want to thank the parents who coordinate our CPTA direct drive and thank the families who donate. The money raised helps all of our students and without it many opportunities would not be possible.  Our district is focusing on equity and opportunity for students.  I want parents to know that the CPTA fills every seat on the limo.  For example, if the limo seats 21 students per ride and we have 15 students that gave $100, the CPTA draws 6 names from those students who donated any amount.  If only 3 other families donated at that grade level then we draw Cougar Pride tickets for the remaining seats.  When it comes to fundraising there is no way to make it completely equitable, but the CPTA does a great job of giving everyone a chance while at the same time raising valuable funds for our school.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

 Wayne Whitwam

 * I received a question this week about putting a freeze on lunch accounts for seconds and extras, like juice.  If you have any questions or would like to put limits on your child’s account please contact Heidi Erickson: HErickson@isd12.org or call 763-792-5422.

Conference Potluck Sign-Up

Fall Conferences will be here Monday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 16th.  Because these days are very long for our teachers, we like to provide them with food, so they can grab a bite to eat before their evening begins, or during conference breaks.

Please use the Signup Genius below if you are willing to donate.  We would like all items to be at school by 3 PM on the day of conferences to give us time to set it all up.

Thank you for your generosity!
