PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton announced today the commencement of a process
to fill the vacancy for the Minnesota National Guard Adjutant General, created
upon the upcoming retirement of Major General Richard Nash, Adjutant General of
the Minnesota National Guard, at the end of October.
“I thank Major General Richard Nash for his extraordinary service
to our state and country, which includes his serving seven years as the
Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard,” said
Governor Dayton. “General Nash has provided superb leadership for the
Guard and the people of Minnesota. His devotion to our Guardsmen and women and
their families has been incomparable.
"I look forward to receiving the recommendations of the
Committee to select the next leader of the Minnesota National Guard.”
Governor
Dayton has created the Committee on Adjutant General Selection to aid in the
review and selection process for this upcoming vacancy. The Committee consists
of the following individuals:

The
members of the Committee will consider applicants and offer recommendations to
Governor Dayton. An applicant must be a commissioned officer
of the National Guard of Minnesota, with not less than ten years military
service in the Minnesota National Guard or the armed forces of the United
States, at least three of which shall have been commissioned and who shall have
reached the grade of a field officer.
The
application process is now open for this vacancy. An individual wishing to
