Highway 71 Turtle River to Tenstrike update: August 5

What's happening now?

Crews are currently blading and compacting from the south end of the project near Beltrami CR 22 to the north Hillcrest intersection. Excavation operations as well as subbase work is taking place from the north Hillcrest intersection to Tenstrike.

As a reminder, the Highway 71 construction area is open to local residents and property owners only. Other traffic should utilize the detour (see map).

The south Hillcrest intersection is open to local traffic.  The north Hillcrest intersection, Beltrami CR 43, and Knappen Hill Road intersections are in the area under construction and are open and closed at different intervals.

As a reminder, during these operations, residents and other local traffic should continue to watch for workers, slow-moving equipment and obey traffic control. Motorists just passing through should utilize the detour.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.
