September 3 Update: Highway 200 near Walker

MnDOT appreciates your participation in our monthly Coffee and Conversation meetings. It has been helpful to our staff to hear from the public regarding this project. You can expect a survey later this month in regards to our communications effort on this project and how we might improve in the future.
Project Update:
Crews continue work on shouldering this week. Next week, beginning Tuesday, paving operations will continue with work on rumble strips and pavement markings to follow. The project is expected to be complete by September 17, weather permitting.
Traffic impacts:
Motorists should use caution and avoid distractions in work zones. The speed limit of 45 mph will continue to be in effect for the duration of the project. Flaggers and pilot cars will be in operation over the next few weeks.
About the project:
Summary of work
- Reclaim, mill and overlay of a 15.6 mile stretch of Highway 200 between the junctions of Highway 371 Highway 84 in Cass County
- Widen shoulders
- Replace Bag Creek and Cedar Creek box culverts
- Add turn lanes
Highway 200 will be open to through traffic for most of the project. There will be a short-term detour during the box culvert installation portion of the project. Details on the project, including detour information is available on the project website.
Anderson Brothers is the prime contractor on the $10.6 million dollar project. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
