What's happening today?
First street is now open to traffic. Crews were able to install the pipe which caused the temporary closure of First Street. Motorists on Highway 1 will now be able to use the detour onto First Street west.

MnDOT
Hwy 1 Roundabouts in TRF
- This week: Crews have continued working on concrete placement at the Brooks Avenue roundabout. They have begun the first two lifts of pavement at the Brooks Avenue roundabout and Frontage Roads.
- Next week: Crews will continue to place concrete at the Barzen roundabout. Grading and structure placement will begin between Barzen Avenue and the intersection of Highways 1 and 59.
- Traffic Impacts: Motorists will continue to use the detour onto 1st St W.

Hwy 32 Resurface between TRF and St. Hilaire
Hwy 1 Resurfacing east of TRF
- This week: Crews began placing erosion control devices in the ditches parallel to the project.
- Next week: Entrance pipe placement and reclaim will begin on the west end of the project.
- Traffic Impacts: Detour onto Pennington County Roads 18, 44, 2, 12 and Highway 219.

Hwy 1 and 75: Argyle and Warren
- This week: Removals and concrete placed on the west side of Highway 75 and the north side of Highway 1. Crews also began pipe placement along Highway 75.
- Next week: Crews will continue sidewalk removals and placement along Highways 1 and 75. They will continue structure placement and concrete work in Aryle.
- Traffic Impacts: Parking lanes are currently closed throughout the project.

Pennington County
Hwy 32 Roundabout at CR 8/Mark Blvd
- This week: The roundabout is open to traffic with the exception of the CR 8 leg which crews have began work on.
- Next week: Crews will continue removals and aggregate base on the CR 8 leg of the roundabout.
- Traffic Impacts: The roundabout is open to traffic next week except for the east leg of CR 8.

CR 8/Mark Blvd route extension and roundabout
- This week: At the Challenger Elementary roundabout, crews continue placing concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk. At the CR 8 bridge, crews have continued working on forming the deck and steel work.
- Next week: At the roundabout, crews will prepare for pavingt. At CR 8 bridge, crews will continue forming the deck of the bridge for the next few weeks.
- Traffic Impacts: The intersection at Pennington Ave near Challenger Elementary is currently closed and a detour is in place.
- Detour onto Greenwood St, Hwy 59 and 140th St NE

Westside flood damage reduction Projects

- Construct a diversion channel and drainage infrastructure on the west side of TRF. Underground storm sewer will be installed along Barzen Ave and Greenwood St, along with a new sanitary sewer

Storm Sewer & Force Main Installation:
Boring of the 54” steel casing pipe is complete. There is a shoulder closure on the north side of Greenwood St. from TH 32 to Oakland Park Rd.
Minnesota Northern Railroad will begin removing track and bridge materials on Monday near the intersection of Highway 32 and Greenwood St. Once complete, the contractor (RJ Zavoral & Sons Inc.) will remove the remainder of the bridge and will begin installing force main and storm sewer pipe in this location. A shoulder closure along Greenwood St. may be required.
Installation of storm sewer on the west side of Barzen Ave. south of the roundabout is now complete.
Diversion Channel Construction:
They continue to work along County Road 16. County Road 61 is open. Caution should be taken by motorists as Zavoral is moving material across County Road 61 from east to west. (See photo of the outlet channel downstream of Hwy 32. The photo was taken several weeks ago but if you’re familiar with this location, it is a drastic improvement.)

- Replace Hwy 1 culvert west of the intersection with Hwy 59
- This week: Paving is complete. (See photo of grading the shouldering material.)
- Traffic Impacts: Motorists on Highway 32 will use CR 14, CR 31 and Highway 59. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained.
- Replace Pennington CR 7 box culvert
- This week: Crews began removing pavement. Traffic is detoured.
- Next week: Crews expect the box culvert to be install by the end of next week, weather permitting.
- Traffic Impacts: Detour.
