Help shape the future of ORV and OHM trails

The DNR Parks and Trails Division is developing master plans to guide development of future off-road vehicle (ORV) and off-highway motorcycle (OHM) trails. The plans will include input from members of the public, the ORV and OHM communities and local government units to understand the perception of ORV and OHM enthusiasts, identify potential areas for ORV and OHM trails and discuss trail management needs.

While the plan will identify potential new areas for ORV and OHM opportunities, any new opportunity will be subject to project-specific DNR interdisciplinary review, environmental review and public review. ORVs are larger 4x4 vehicles such as Jeeps, Land Rovers, trucks and rock crawlers. OHMs are off-highway motorcycles such as dirt bikes and duel sport bikes. These master plans do not include smaller all-terrain vehicles such as class I ATVs (4 wheelers) and class II ATVs (side by sides, i.e.. Razors and Rangers).

Parks and Trails is currently seeking your input through several online public engagement tools. To share your thoughts on ORV opportunities, please complete the ORV public engagement tool by February 28. To share your thoughts on OHM opportunities, please complete the OHM public engagement tool by February 15. If you represent a local government such as a county, city or township, please complete our OHM local government public engagement tool by February 15.
