DNR - DNR receives revised application from PolyMet for a permit to take endangered and threatened species
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has received a
revised application from PolyMet for a Permit to Take Endangered or Threatened
Species.
Barr Engineering and their subcontractor Salix Environmental recently
conducted rare plant surveys to inform PolyMet’s revised application for a Permit to
Take Endangered or Threatened Species. The surveys focused on floating marsh
marigold (Caltha natans), as well as
several species of moonwort (Botrychium).
In advance of this field work, DNR reviewed and approved a plant survey work
plan. The surveys were completed on June 20, and DNR has approved the final
survey report.
The DNR is currently reviewing PolyMet’s revised application for a permit to
take floating marsh marigold (Caltha
natans), upswept moonwort (Botrychium
ascendens), and spatulate moonwort (Botrychium
spathulatum).
