Final chance to renew your master plumber license without a late fee
Minnesota master plumber licenses expire Dec. 31, 2020
You must complete 16 hours of approved continuing education (CE) before you can renew your license.
- All courses must relate to the Minnesota Plumbing Code or technical topics relating to the Code ("non-code").
- At least eight hours must relate to the Plumbing Code.
- There is no extension of the CE deadline due to COVID-19.
- There is no limit to the number of hours that can be taken online.

Find approved CE courses.
- CE sponsors report your attendance directly to the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), so you do not need to send us proof of attendance. Make sure you use your master plumber (PM) license number when you register for CE courses.
- CE sponsors have 14 days from the date of your course to report your attendance.
How do I renew?
What is the renewal fee?
- The license renewal fee is still $73.
- A late fee of $30 will be added to any renewals not received by DLI by Dec. 31, 2020.
Do I have to renew online?
- No. You can also renew via U.S. mail. Send us a check for the $73 license renewal fee along with a copy of your license or a note indicating your name, address and license number.
- Checks should be made payable to “MN Department of Labor and Industry.”
