DLI issues employer, employee COVID-19 FAQs
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) has issued a new set FAQs responding to the most common questions and concerns it has been hearing since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Federal paid sick days, expanded family leave
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) requires certain employers to provide employees with expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. The expanded family and medical leave provisions of the FFCRA apply to certain public employers and to private employers with fewer than 500 employees. On March 25, 2020, Gov. Tim Walz issued Executive Order 20-20, directing Minnesotans to limit movements outside of their homes from March 27 at 11:59 p.m. to April 10 at 5 p.m. to help slow the spread of COVID-19. For more information see:
Unemployment insurance
Gov. Walz issued a March 16, 2020, executive order to better enable workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to access unemployment benefits.
