Delayed implementation of the authorization requirement for non-residential 245G programs

The Department of Human Services is delaying the implementation of the authorization requirement for non-residential 245G programs when providing more than 6 hours a day or 30 hours a week of treatment services until further notice.

Providers will be given at least a 30-day notice prior to implementation with a schedule of trainings and resources to support the necessary changes for the impacted providers.

During the 2021 special legislation session, language passed requiring prior authorization for non-residential 245G licensed substance use disorder (SUD) treatment providers when providing more than 6 hours a day or 30 hours a week of treatment services. (254B.05, Subd. 5(h)).
