Reminder that for the duration of the peacetime emergency, BHD will allow grantees to use EXISTING GRANT FUNDS for activities and purchases related to preventing and responding to COVID-19 within the scope of the original contract.
Be creative with your AMHI/CSP/MLA/CART funds to best respond to the mental health needs in your community. We want to ensure mental health needs are being met during this stressful time.
Some examples of how you can use EXISTING GRANT FUNDS during the COVID-19 State of Emergency include and are not limited to:
- deliver services and trainings utilizing virtual communication platforms, telephones, and telepresence following current guidance
- use existing funds to purchase telepresence hardware and software for staff, clients and community locations (pharmacies, courts, etc.); this includes onetime purchases of hardware such as iPads or tablets, and also ongoing software and subscription fees
- use existing funds to provide client transportation and delivery of food and medication
Reach out to us if you have other ideas, questions, and we'll figure out if it's a change we can support with this new flexibility.
Budget Revisions
We will continue to use the budget revision process currently in place. Contact your AMHI Consultant with any budget related questions or changes.
We will be doing 2-year amendments for the current contracts, extending them through December 31, 2022. This will hopefully result in an expedited process, both for applications and contracting.
Applications
- Updated electronic application will be emailed to AMHI coordinators and designated CSP county contact by April 30, 2020
- Narrative sections have been removed for this funding cycle
- Return applications to the AMHI mailbox by July 31, 2020
DHS has created three new websites of information related to Adult Mental Health, Children's Mental Health, and Alcohol, Drugs and Other Addictions Services. If you haven't done so, please sign up to receive COVID-19 related updates on the DHS website.
Please share this email with your AMHI membership and AMHI/CSP grant recipients.
