Please RSVP before the end of day on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, for the Nov. 22, 2019, Community Stakeholders Summit regarding Minnesota’s Vulnerable Adult Act (VAA) and Adult Protective Services system (APS).
The summit is a time for people with disabilities (and those they choose to have join them) to share with DHS what they want from the adult protection system.
Summit information
Join the summit to reflect on the feedback DHS has gathered about Adult Protective Services.
Background
DHS is working to understand what community members want to see in a redesigned system for protecting and supporting vulnerable adults. For the past six weeks, organizations around the state have been hosting community conversations (PDF) about the adult protective services system.
The feedback generated by these important grassroots discussions will form the foundation for re-imagining how adult protective services approaches its work and, eventually, impact the actual language of the VAA.
