Minnesota State Fair this year with helpful information on aging, including
planning for long-term services and supports many Minnesotans will need as they

Disability Linkage Line is now Disability Hub MN on the phone and, for the
first time, online at disabilityhubmn.org. Disability Hub MN is a free
statewide resource network that helps people with disabilities solve problems,

The Minnesota Department of Human Services awarded two grants to the Center
for Inclusive Child Care at Concordia University, St. Paul, to launch the
Health and Safety Consultation Pilot and the New Infant/Toddler Specialist
Network. The $3.2 million in funding from the federal Child Care Development
Block Grant extends through 2019. Services through these programs will be
available to licensed child care providers statewide. More information is in a news release.
A health care initiative that has helped Minnesota save nearly $213 million
and achieve better health outcomes for people enrolled in Medicaid and
MinnesotaCare is seeing successes in Two Harbors, where 13,636 patients have
been served through the program at Wilderness Health. On August 10, Human
Services Assistant Commissioner Nathan Moracco visited one of Wilderness

opportunity to reaffirm the state’s commitment to the well-being of children. More

A new model of mental and chemical health care is now available in
northwestern Minnesota, and on August 11, Minnesota Department of Human
Services Assistant Commissioner Claire Wilson toured the clinic, met with staff
and community leaders and got to see first-hand how Northwestern Mental Health

The Minnesota Department of Human Services continued its celebration of
refugees with the second in a series of photography exhibits and community conversations,
traveling to the George Latimer Central Library on August 7. The exhibit, “When
Home Won’t Let You Stay,” features photographs by James A. Bowey, a documentary
photographer who explores human rights and social connections. Photos will be
exhibited Aug. 1 through Sept. 2. More information is available in a news release.
