Focusing on people not programs

October 2016

Webinar archive

If your schedule does not allow you to participate in a MnCHOICES’ support plan monthly webinar, you can access the PowerPoint and listen to the audio recording at Disability Services Division’s training archive on CountyLink. In the archive, you will also find other webinars that may be valuable to the work you do.

P.S. For all you certified assessors, there are archived training opportunities that look like they would fulfill CLU requirements!

Big high five

Thank you to each and every one who played a role in strengthening the security of MnCHOICES and supporting the data privacy needs of the people we serve. You rose to the challenge. You collaborated within your agency and we have seen the results of your hard work.

We will continue to remind you, on a monthly basis, to update security access within your agency. And we will continue to send you lists of inactive users, but only on a quarterly basis. Guidance on this process is found in the “Maintenance of User Access: SSIS Roles & Functions and Known Issues” document found on CountyLink under “Getting Help: SSIS”

You have questions…. We have answers

We are ready to make the MnCHOICES Support Plan (MnSP) Launch Survey and the MnSP September webinar question-and-answer documents available. Look for them on the MnCHOICES CountyLink page under the heading “Communications.”

    Mentor list

It’s finally here! The list of MnCHOICES mentors with phone numbers and emails is posted to CountyLink. An expectation of the MnCHOICES Mentors Alliance is that mentors get to know each other. By building relationships with each other, mentors might contact each other between quarterly meetings to problem-solve an issue.

Go ahead… make someone’s day. Ask him or her how he or she resolved an issue you’re experiencing.

Quarterly list of certified assessors posted

An updated “Statewide List of Certified Assessors” is posted to the MnCHOICES CountyLink page. You can find it under the topic “Training: MnCAT Step 4 – Recertification.” We added a new column to the list that documents recertification dates. Use the color codes to help monitor certification status:

    • Green: Certification is valid for at least 6 months or more
    • Yellow: Certification is valid for less than 6 months
    • Red: Certification is expired.

The “Explanation about the Statewide List of Certified Assessors List,” found in the same section, explains how to use the list.

MnCHOICES Mentors Alliance (MMA) meeting is Nov. 8

Preparations are under way for the quarterly MMA meeting. We have some very important issues to discuss, including:

    • Revise, review and approve the MMA charter
    • Obtain feedback about MnCHOICES CountyLink update
    • Review the MnCHOICES assessment release 16.4
    • Actions to take when a certification expires prior to completing the recertification process.

Because the meeting is on Election Day, we plan to end the meeting at 2:30 p.m. instead of the usual time of 3:30 p.m. Register on TrainLink.
