City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Council. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completing, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.

Earn college credits and industry credentials in a high demand field at Hennepin Technical College.

Free Project for Pride in Living Trainings
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): May 4 to June 5, 2015
Class hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Program includes 3 weeks of employment skills, computer and office training, and a 2-week internship in a healthcare setting. Included is an introduction to medical terminology, First Aid and CPR Certification. Participants must be current CNAs and preferably have some CNA work experience. A monetary award will be given upon class completion.

Banking: June 8 to June 26, 2015
Class hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
The program builds professional and customer service skills needed for success in a bank teller position. Included is a first interview with local bank managers looking for individuals who are ready to start their career in banking. A monetary award will be given upon class completion.

Human Services Pathway: June 2015
Class hours: Monday-Friday, 5:30pm-8:30pm
This 8 ½ - month program in partnership with Hennepin County, MCTC and adult education builds computer and professional skills and gives hands on experience during a 2-week internship with Hennepin County. This program will prepare you for positions such as Human Services Representative. MCTC credits will be earned upon class completion.
