Minnesota Achieves Jobs Milestone

Minnesota's trip through the last recession won't be forgotten anytime soon, but employment numbers reported last week may help push those memories into the past. The state gained 12,200 jobs in August, enough to pass the previous high-water mark for jobs of 2.78 million before the Great Recession.

Minnesota employers added 12,200 jobs in August, and the unemployment rate dropped to 5.1 percent, the lowest level in more than five years, according to figures released last week by DEED.
