NORTHERN IRON LLC
The State Rapid Response Team (SRRT) received a Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, 29 U.S.C. § 2101 et seq. ("WARN") email from Northern Iron LLC informing us of the permanent closure and layoff of approximately 86 employees from their facility located at:
- 867 Forest St. N, St. Paul, MN 55106
Due to the planned closure of Northern Iron LLC, employee separations are scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026, with phased layoffs continuing through December 31, 2026, when the facility will permanently close.
Some affected employees are represented by the United Steel Workers Local 2002-29, and bumping rights apply.
Positions affected in this layoff/closure are, but are not limited to:
Core, Engineering, Finishing & Material Handling, Human Resources, Inspection, Machine Shop, Maintenance, Melter, Mold/Ram, Office Manager, Operations Management, Pattern & Tooling, Plant Manager, Quality, Sales & Customer Service, Shipping.
