If your employer’s health plan is affordable for you – but it’s not affordable to add family coverage – your family members may be newly eligible for financial help and able to find lower cost health insurance through MNsure, Minnesota’s official health insurance marketplace.

MNsure has a special enrollment period, open now through October 31, 2023, to help eligible Minnesotans who could save money on monthly premiums with tax credits to make the switch from their current employer-sponsored coverage to a private health plan through MNsure.org.

Employment and Training Programs

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Development Board. Our programs:

Career Pathways Trainings offer job seekers free or low-cost, accelerated trainings that prepare them for careers in high demand job sectors including Healthcare, IT, Public Safety and the Trades.

Career Works - Employment and training services to eligible adults 18 and over who are looking to gain skills and employment in healthcare, IT, manufacturing, construction or administrative services.

Minneapolis Youth Works - Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.

Dislocated Worker Program - Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
