August Redevelopment Grant and Demolition Loan applications
The Redevelopment Grant Program helps communities with the costs of redeveloping blighted industrial, residential, or commercial sites and putting land back into productive use. The Demolition Loan Program assists development authorities with the costs of demolishing blighted buildings on sites that have future development potential but where there are no current development plans.

Legislative Update
The Legislative session is ending with a flurry of activity. DEED’s Cleanup Program funding remains steady while the Redevelopment Grant Program/Demolition Loan Program funding was appropriated an additional $4 Million for the biennium to supplement the $2.246 million annual base funding appropriation. The legislature also created several new programs which will be administered by DEED, along with over 100 special appropriations. Expect DEED staff to have a very busy summer.
Brownfields and Beyond Conference
Come and join us on October 26-27, 2023 for DEED’s 2023 Brownfields and Beyond Minnesota Redevelopment Conference focused on brownfield and redevelopment topics and projects. This year's conference will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton in Bloomington, MN.
Sponsorships are still available. The agenda is currently being finalized. New this year, on Wednesday we've added a pre-conference Bus Tour and a hosted welcome reception. Come learn and see some of the project sites. The hosted reception is a great way to meet other conference attendees and begin the conference networking early! Registration will open August 21.
