Serving Minneapolis Public Schools Students: A Virtual Training for DEED-VRS Community Partners

Dear VRS Community Partners,

VRS is pleased to invite VRS Community Partners to a training on a new process to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) services to students in the Minneapolis Public Schools district.

Background

Minneapolis Public Schools have partnered with VRS, the Minnesota Department of Education, and two VRS Community Partners for the past two school years to create and pilot an interagency process for providing Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) for students with disabilities in Minneapolis Public Schools. That process for serving students in Minneapolis Public Schools will now be the consistent approach to serving students across all Minneapolis public high schools.

Training

VRS is offering a training for all VRS Community Partners on the new process and approach, as well as key information about mandatory documents that need to be in place in order to serve MPS students.

• Time: 2:00 p.m. -- 3:00 p.m.

  • Understand the DEED-VRS and Minneapolis Public Schools partnership process for serving students with disabilities.
  • Learn about the Minneapolis Public Schools partnership agreement and release of information that must be completed in order to meet with students at Minneapolis Public Schools.
