A Minneapolis-based nonprofit is rebuilding their program to clean, refurbish and wipe computer hardware to be reused at schools and other organizations. Their school sales and online sales fund some of the nonprofit, Gillard said, but the bulk of their training programs is funded through the Department of Employment and Economic Development and "a lot of grant writing."

Updates from DEED
DEED has awarded over $672,000 in Launch Minnesota Innovation Grants to 20 technology startups throughout the state. These grants require a one-to-one match with private dollars, bringing the total potential investment in these startups to over $1.3 million.
Governor Tim Walz and DEED Commissioner Steve Grove visited Melrose on Monday, January 27 to find out how a $393,890 Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant will help local businesses and residents by providing reliable, high-speed internet.

DEED) is announcing $1 million in grant and loan funding to assist Minnetronix Medical, a St. Paul-based medical technology company, in expanding its headquarters. Minnetronix Medical is planning its fourth expansion since moving to St. Paul’s Energy Park Drive in 2000.
