Minnesota's Angel Tax Credit is Gone Until 2021; Launch Minnesota Grants Still Available

DEED announced that the $10 million it set aside for the 2019 Angel Tax Credit has been completely used up. That's despite a short year. The program was brought back midway through 2019 when Gov. Tim Walz signed it into law in June; Walz is a vocal supporter of the program.

A plan to develop a 73-acre site off Blue Earth County Road 12 on the far east edge of Mankato got a boost Friday when the state awarded a $1.1 million grant to the city to help pay for an extension of Adams Street.

Minnesota Unemployment at 3.3%

Minnesota gained 5,911 jobs from November 2018 to November 2019, a 0.2% increase. The private sector average wage rate went up 18 cents in November for a 5.2% rise over the year.

DEED Awards nearly $3 Million for Infrastructure Investments

The TEDI program was created to finance infrastructure projects that create economic development opportunities, jobs, and improve statewide transportation systems.

DEED’s New Direction with Tribal Nations

DEED began our in-person consultations with tribal nations this fall and will continue consultations into 2020. One of our first objectives is to identify priority issues and engage tribes in the development of annual legislative and fiscal proposals.

Met Council Receives $50,000,000 Low Interest Loan from the PFA

The Metropolitan Council will use the funds to improve interceptor systems serving the metropolitan service area, including projects in Waconia, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
