DEED announced in August that Neela Mollgaard, founder of the Red Wing Ignite entrepreneurship group, is the inaugural leader for Launch Minnesota. A public-private partnership created by the Legislature this year, Launch Minnesota offers grants, mentorship resources and other assistance to the end of making Minnesota a top-five state for startups.

Gov. Tim Walz is declaring Nov. 30 as “Small Business Saturday” in Minnesota. Small Business Saturday started in 2010 and is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Since it started in 2010, Small Business Saturday spending has reached an estimated $103 billion.

DEED Updates
Gov. Tim Walz declared Saturday, November 30, 2019 “Small Business Saturday” in recognition of the contributions small businesses make the state’s local economies and communities.
The St. Cloud area, like many other parts of Minnesota, is experiencing demographic change. The dramatic demographic changes the city of St. Cloud and the surrounding area have experienced in the past few decades are requiring adjustments by all residents. And change can be hard.
