State Commissioners Visit 11 Communities on One Minnesota Tour

Minnesota Business First Stop agencies tour South-Central Minnesota as part of annual state tour

St. Paul – Eight Minnesota State Commissioners participated in the sixth annual Minnesota Business First Stop tour across South-Central Minnesota October 23-24, 2019.

During the two-day bus tour, the group made 12 stops in 11 communities, including Le Sueur, Saint Peter, Waseca, Janesville, Eagle Lake, Mankato, Fairmont, Jackson, Windom, New Ulm and Glencoe. The Commissioners and staff toured businesses and manufacturing facilities and met with community leaders and entrepreneurs.

“There’s no substitute for seeing and hearing directly from people in Greater Minnesota about how government can coordinate and problem solve to serve our businesses and communities better,” said Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Commissioner Steve Grove. “Over the last two days, we heard from businesses and community leaders on the issues that are most impacting their work, and saw firsthand the innovation that’s driving our state forward.”

Created in 2012, Minnesota Business First Stop works to streamline the development process for complex businesses expansions, relocations and major startups that involve multiple state agencies. Minnesota Business First Stop conducts the annual tour every fall across a different region of Minnesota.
