Learn About The State of Minnesota’s Connect 700 Program

Connect 700 provides another path to a state job for people with certain disabilities. The program allows eligible individuals with disabilities the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to perform a specific position for up to 700 hours on the job. School supplies tax credit for parents

Low-cost internet service through Internet Essentials from Comcast

Find out if you’re eligible to get home Internet for $9.95 plus tax per month. You must:

  1. Have at least one child who qualifies for the National School Lunch Program.
  2. Do not have outstanding debt to Comcast that is less than a year old.
  3. Families with outstanding debt more one year old may still be eligible.
  4. Live in an area where Comcast Internet service is available but have not subscribe to it within the last 90 days.

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Development Board. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • WIOA Adult
    Employment and training services to eligible adults 18 and over who are looking to gain skills and employment in healthcare, IT, manufacturing, construction or administrative services.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
