DEED Programs Helping to Spark Growth Statewide

Aluminum recycler Spectro Alloys is expanding in Rosemount and adding two metal processing furnaces that should help the business take on new orders and hold its own with aggressive competitors. Spectro is among several recent business expansion projects receiving financial help from DEED. One of the agency's most popular programs, the Job Creation Fund, has awarded $33.7 million to 74 projects since launching three years ago.

Altec Expanding With DEED Assistance

A forgivable loan from DEED is expected to fuel the expansion of Altec Inc.'s manufacturing operations in Duluth, leading to the creation of 100 new jobs. Dave Faynik, general manager of Altec's Duluth operations, said the company already has begun hiring. "We're definitely excited to be expanding here in Duluth," he said.

ASV Holdings Moving Distribution Center to Grand Rapids

ASV Holdings Inc., a manufacturer of compact track and skid steer loaders for the construction market, is moving its parts distribution operations from Southhaven, Miss., to a new site near its corporate headquarters and manufacturing plant in Grand Rapids. 
DEED is supporting the project with a $125,000 loan from the Minnesota Investment Fund. If the company meets hiring and investment commitments, $50,000 of the loan will be forgiven. Read more
