Wadena Pioneer Journal-9/27/17 West Central Telephone Association's project build-out areas include about 200 residents and 68 miles of fiber in rural Wadena County, and 145 residents and 63 miles of fiber in northern Todd County.

Geringhoff is looking to expand its St. Cloud facility and create up to 20 new full-time jobs. The Minnesota Job Creation Fund application includes a target objective of 20 new full-time positions created with an average wage of $21 per hour.

Envirolastech, a Job Creation Fund recipient, has found ways to utilize types of plastic and glass most recyclers do not want and partners with the Mayo Clinic to recycle previously discarded plastics. Some companies are interested in using their salt-resistant material for building sea walls.

To highlight the importance of manufacturing, Governor Mark Dayton issued a proclamation declaring the week of Oct. 1-7 to be Minnesota Manufacturing Week. Manufacturing is the state’s largest industry, supporting 318,000 Minnesota jobs.
