LRT BUILD Program: Construction Trades Apprenticeship Preparatory Program
This program prepares long-term unemployed adults and high school graduates for careers in the construction industry. Two versions of this training program are available:

   * A 10-week program for unemployed adults:
     Applications due - May 26, 2017 
     Program starts - June 5, 2017

   * A 6-week program for new high school graduates:
     Applications due - June 23, 2017 
     Program starts - July 10

HIRED Green Construction
Get trained quickly and start your construction career at Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park. Twenty day program starts May 22, 2017 and June 5, 2017, 4 days a week, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

CAPI Certified Nursing Assistant Training

Free Food Safety Training
This program helps participants (17 years +) gain experience in a licensed kitchen, ServeSafe certification, quality job references, and help finding a job. 

Sessions are held monthly at Pillsbury United Communities’ Oak Park Center.

HIRED Manufacturing (CNC and Precision Metal Stamping)
Starts in September but taking applications now. These are evening classes. Students get a chance to earn college credit as well as earn a metalworking certification.

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Council. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
