This four-day job search skills training series is designed to prepare participants to be job search ready. Topics include:

Project for Pride in Living (PPL) Employment Training
Attend Learning Center Information Sessions, held at 9 a.m. every Monday at the PPL Learning Center (1925 Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis), to get started in any of the following trainings.
 
Bank Teller Training
Running January 17 - February 3, this class offers soft skills training, network opportunities, and first round interviews with local bank managers.  The last Bank Teller training placed all 11 graduates in employment within 2 weeks of class completion.

Human Services Pathway
Beginning January 30, this program with Normandale Community College and Hennepin County will prepare you for a Human Services Representative position at Hennepin County. 6 FREE college credits can be earned. Classes will be held in the evening at Normandale Community College. Flyer
 
Healthcare PLUS
Running  from February 6 - June 19, this evening program will equip you to succeed as a Patient Assistant Coordinator at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. The program includes a job shadow at Abbott Northwestern. Participants should have previous experience in direct patient care and clerical work. Link

Building Operations Technician
Hands-on training and college coursework will help to prepare participants for a career in maintenance operations. A paid apprenticeship is included in the program.  Participants should have day-time and evening availability, along with a basic understanding of computer skills. Begins February 2017. Link

Hennepin County Office Specialist
This six-week training with Hennepin County, will focus on developing administrative skills to help you land a position as a Hennepin County Office Specialist III. Class runs February 13 - March 17, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Candidates should have 1.5 years of prior office experience.

Free Urban Tech Jobs Program (UTJP)
UTJP is an accelerated technology training program for unemployed adults 18 and over, with a high school diploma or GED. The program operated by the Minneapolis Urban League offers training in technology programs from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, and others. Job readiness and personal resiliency development workshops, counseling and  paid work experience are also provided.

Applicants are required to take the TABE assessment and receive a score of 9th grade level on the math and 10th grade reading level and can retake the TABE, if necessary.

Pepsi ACT Training for all Persons with Disabilities
Goodwill-Easter Seals of Minnesota is hosting the Pepsi ACT - Achieving Change Together  training  for individuals with disabilities seeking employment.
 
The training will be:

New Leaf Workshop
This class is designed for job seekers addressing a criminal record in their job search. It combines the nationally recognized Creative Job Search course with special strategies for addressing and overcoming barriers to employment, including how, when, and why to disclose your record, addressing employers’ concerns, answering tough interview questions, "Ban the Box”, etc.
 
Each workshop is a one day session of 4.5 hours (9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.).

The City of Minneapolis along with three high-quality accelerated learning programs: PRIME Digital Academy, Creating IT Futures Foundation – IT Ready, and The Software Guild came together with 150 regional employers with the purpose of training and placing diverse workers into tech careers.
