Cirrus Bets Future on Personal Jet
Minnesota Public Radio-12/20/16
The first so-called personal jet hit the market last week when Duluth-based Cirrus Aircraft handed over the keys to the first buyer of its long-awaited Vision Jet. The jet will be finished and painted at a Duluth facility that was awarded a $4 million loan last year from DEED's Minnesota Investment Fund.

Chaska Adds Another Data Center

U.S. Bank will start building a $250 million data center in Chaska this spring to add information storage to the bank’s computer network. The bank will get at least $835,000 in grants and abatements from the state and Chaska to pay for the center. Chaska is home to a number of data centers, including one owned by Dallas-based Stream Data Centers.

DEED Names Lending Partners
DEED has selected 23 nonprofit organizations to participate in a new statewide lending program designed to provide funding to businesses that may experience difficulty accessing capital. The program aims to increase economic opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, low-income individuals, and/or persons with disabilities.

Ovative/group Adding 100 Jobs
Ovative/group, a fast-growing digital marketing, analytics and measurement firm, will invest $2.1 million and create 100 jobs when it expands to a new building in downtown Minneapolis. The project received a $605,000 grant from DEED's Job Creation Fund. 

U.S. Bank Building Data Center
Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank announced plans last week to build a $250 million data center in Chaska in partnership with Dallas-based Stream Data Centers. The 56,000-square-foot facility will employ about 18 full-time workers. DEED is supporting the project with a $287,000 grant from the Job Creation Fund and $250,000 from the Innovative Business Development Public Infrastructure Program.

ERC Opening Willmar Call Center
Florida-based Enhanced Resource Centers (ERC) plans to open a call center in the former Kandiyohi Power Cooperative building in Willmar. The company said it will create up to 238 new positions and invest $2 million in building improvements over the next three years. DEED awarded the project a $563,183 grant from the Job Creation Fund.
