Each month, DEED's Regional Analysis & Outreach unit produces a series of blogs exploring local labor market information. In conjunction with last week's observance of Veterans Day, this month's blogs focus on demographic and economic information for veterans across the state. 

Central Minnesota: Although veterans residing in Central Minnesota have experienced periods of higher than normal unemployment, income data suggests they are enjoying the expanding economy.

Twin Cities Metro: Recent data shows a dramatic improvement in the unemployment rate for veterans in the Twin Cities - from 10.2 percent in 2010 to 3.4 percent in 2015.

Northeast Minnesota: Employers in the Arrowhead can support service members, veterans, and their families by joining the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program, much like Minnesota Power has.

Southwest Minnesota: The largest number of veterans in Southwest Minnesota served during the Vietnam era, but veterans from every era and every age group can receive services from veterans employment reps like Ron Kellen.
