Food Safety Training
This free program helps participants (17 years +) gain experience in a licensed kitchen, ServeSafe certification, quality job references, and help finding a job. Sessions are held monthly at Pillsbury United Communities’ Oak Park Center.

HIRED’s Green Construction Trades Course covers a variety of topics that give students exposure to various aspects of today’s construction industry. The course is designed to give students in-demand green construction skills that will make them excellent candidates for career pathways in the building trades. Whether you want to learn construction basics or expand an existing set of skills, the Green Construction Trades Course will give you marketable skills you need to advance your career.

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Council. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own. For adult ages 18 and older.
  • Train to Career
    Job-skills training in a select occupation in demand for low-income, Minneapolis residents.
