The 42-hour On-Demand Certification Program:

Neurocriminology Informed Professional (NIP)

All 14 videos, the final exam, and the certification exam are now available!

DESCRIPTION: Neurocriminology is an interdisciplinary subfield of criminology that incorporates methodological approaches from neuroscience, physiology, genetics, biology, and psychology. The goal of neurocriminology is to better understand, predict, prevent, and treat criminal and violent behaviors. Although there is no single determinant of such actions, neurocriminology strives to identify different risk factors that increase the likelihood of specific criminal and violent behaviors. This continuing education training certification program provides attendees with an in-depth examination of the neurocriminology field and its potential implications for interviewing, screening, and treating individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Attendees can also expect to learn how incorporating neurocriminology research into existing approaches can help allied disciplines work more effectively with clients who engage in anti-social, problematic, irrational, and other externalizing behaviors. Professionals working within, or in partnership with the fields of mental health, criminal justice, human services, and the legal system, would benefit from this certification program. This comprehensive program features 14 distinctive on-demand training sessions that cover different topics related to neurocriminology.

LOGISTICS: The program includes the following:

·    Participants can join at any time; all (14) training videos are available when the NIP program is purchased.

Training materials such as individual course descriptions, handouts, agendas, and PDF post-tests are available for each video under the "training materials" section.

·    Participants are encouraged to complete the PDF post-tests after each training video when the information is fresh and keep them for future use on the final electronic post-test.

·    Each participant is eligible for a certificate of completion for the 42-hour program after completing all fourteen videos and the final post-test.

·    Those who pass the final post-program online exam will be awarded a Neurocriminology Informed Professional (NIP) certification.

·    Participants will maintain access to all training videos through the Neurocriminology Informed Professional (NIP) On-Demand training module.

As a bonus for registering for the series, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and submit feedback directly to Dr. Jerrod Brown via email (jerrodbaiafs@gmail.com) for the duration of the program.

*Participants can join at any time; all previously available training videos (released monthly) will be available whenever a program is purchased. For example, if a professional purchases this series in September of 2023, four videos will be available (see list below for release dates) and if a professional purchases this certification series in December of 2023, seven videos will be available.
