$60 Million in Small Business Relief Grants
The Minnesota House and Senate passed $62 million in direct assistance for small businesses with an emphasis on funding people of color, veterans, females, and greater Minnesota business owners. The package was signed by Governor Walz. This program will make available $10,000 grants to Minnesotan owned and operated businesses that can demonstrate financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. A total of $60.3 million is available for grant awards, which will be selected through a computer-generated, randomized selection process.
Awards will be disbursed and administered by qualified local and regionally based nonprofit organizations. Grant funds received by individual businesses shall be used for working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, and other similar expenses that occur or have occurred since March 1, 2020, in the regular course of business. These are grants and no repayment will be required. Translated materials in Spanish, Somali and Hmong are available. The grant application will be open for 10 days, beginning on Tuesday, June 23. You can sign up for a webinar and find more information here.
Webinar Schedule: • June 24 - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. • June 25 - 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. • June 26 - 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. • June 27 - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. • June 28 - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. • June 29 - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. • June 30 - 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Understanding the Impact of COVID19 on Handling SUD Cases Within the Criminal Justice System
We each recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic has required us to fundamentally shift the way we work, and the work we do. Sometimes shifts are temporary; other times shifts drive innovation that ultimately becomes the new gold standard.
In order that we may best be positioned to work alongside you to support those we serve, this survey intends to help clarify how COVID-19 has impacted our partners working across the criminal justice system, and to identify ways of working that may represent a "new normal". Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.
Would you or someone you know be a great fit for the Second Chance Coalition?
We are currently seeking nominations for the Board of Directors.
The most important things we are looking for in a candidate are lived experience, a connection to our work, and time to dedicate to advancing our mission. We also appreciate applicants that have skill sets in fundraising, communications, and development, though these are not required. System impacted individuals are encouraged to apply. If you are an organizational or individual member of the Second Chance Coalition, you may nominate somebody for the Board of Directors. To do so, direct them to our board application, and make sure they specify on the application that you referred them. If you are interested in serving on the board, but do not have someone to nominate you, please still fill out the application. Strong candidates will have the opportunity to be nominated by a current board member based on their application. Please note that selected candidates must be available for our July 2020 virtual board meeting (Wednesday, July 8, 3pm-5pm) to accept their nomination and introduce themselves to the current board.
In order to help providers and stakeholders get ready for the launch of housing stabilization services in mid-July 2020, there will be five remote regional roadshows that will take place from June-July 2020. Each date will focus on a specific region of the state with morning sessions for providers and afternoon sessions for county staff and tribes. The provider session will cover enrollment, provider training, billing, the eligibility review process and answer questions about service implementation. The county and tribe session will cover the impact housing stabilization will have on case managers and assessors, the eligibility review process and answer questions about service implementation. Sign-up for the appropriate region where you are located.
