APPA 2020 Winter Training Institute

January 5-8, 2020

New Orleans, LA

The theme for the 2020 Winter Training Institute is Safer Communities: Belief is the Foundation of Success. Steps to success begin by believing in people – believing they have the capacity to do good work. Clearly, adult and juvenile justice practitioners intend to excel in their craft and provide fitting programs, services, and resources to clients and communities. Although experiencing unique challenges, practitioners embrace justice transformation, sensible policies, and innovative and evidence-based practices. They are committed to this work, they are honing their skills, seeking the right combination of tools needed to assist clients – confident of their ability to navigate the road map of success. The work rests firmly on the foundation of belief – belief in this industry’s impact on public safety, because safer communities are important to everyone.
