Substance Use Disorder: Community Trends, Treatment & Recovery Support Options

July 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm

Radisson Hotel- Great Hall- 505 W Superior ST, Duluth, MN 55802

Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. and NUWAY are co-hosting this CE event that will be providing education and information about substance use disorder trends (SUD), treatment and the community recovery support options. Learn about the efforts of the Duluth Police Department to address the opioid crisis and how the local issues compare to the State and Country. 75% of individuals in SUD treatment report abuse and trauma histories. Review Accelerated Resolution Training as an alternative evidence based path to meaningful recovery while simultaneously mitigating the “cost of caring” for the clinician during engagement with effective trauma work. We will review the history of self-help groups and meetings and how crime and sexual predation has permeated these spaces and what we can do to curtail or prevent this growing trend.
