Hosted by The Council of State Governments Justice Center with funding support from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance

Date: Thursday, Dec. 13 Time: 2–3:30 p.m. ET

Featuring Becki Ney of the National Resource Center on Justice-Involved Women, this webinar will cover system-level strategies to maximize outcomes for women in the criminal justice system and ensure the sustainability of gender-responsive services. To highlight these strategies in action, representatives from Franklin County, Ohio, will describe gender-responsive system changes that have been made in their jurisdiction. How bout volunteering  for the next SOTP Job Interviewing Class?

When:  Friday, December 28th, 2018

Time: 11:45 am – 4:00 pm

Where:  MCF – Lino Lakes, Sex Offender Treatment Program

Why:  To assist SOTP offenders preparing for release to improve/develop job interviewing skills

Who:  Anyone with experience in hiring / conducting job interviews and/or helping offenders prepare for a successful release

It’s that time again that the MCF-Lino Lakes Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) is preparing for quarter break and the quarterly Job Interviewing Class.  We are looking for volunteers to conduct practice mock interviews for the offenders to work on their interviewing skills in preparation of their release. This is a great way to take a break from your normal work routine and provide offenders with the practice they need to seek employment.

Note: For those that have never done this before & are not DOC employees, please note, in order to participate in this volunteer opportunity, you cannot be on the visiting list of any prison offender in MN, be on active probation/parole supervision, have an open court case or have an expired or suspended ID/DL and must be off probation/parole supervision or unsupervised court continuance for at least one year.

Housing Access Grant Program

What: The Housing Best Practices Forum is an opportunity to expand the use of best practices in helping people with disabilities to move to the housing they choose.

Ellen Baudler, Director of Housing Access Services, Arc Minnesota, will present on recent changes, how to access, what services are provided through the Housing Access Grant Program at the Arc Minnesota

Program Manager - Community Justice

Primary Duty: Supervises staff and oversees functions assigned to the Residential Re-Entry Center. The Program Manager role is critical to the Community Justice program. Bureau of Prisons compliance experience is mandatory with familiarity to practices and procedures

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, lead, manage, train, supervise, recognize, and develop staff to achieve established objectives; provide quality services in a work environment reflecting teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Conduct or supervise annual performance reviews of all staff, including assessment of past year. accomplishments corresponding to objectives set in previous reviews, coming year objectives corresponding to current program goals, and professional development objectives.
  • Oversee the mandatory training tracking system to assure staff are informed of training requirements.
  • Oversee administrative functions assigned to the Support Unit including accounts payable, accounts receivable, personnel, purchasing, training, public relations, program evaluation systems, and electronic monitoring equipment.
  • Oversee accreditation for the Residential Re-Entry Program including coordination of documentation and periodic audits.
  • Previous experience in automated case management system(s) is necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BOP Security Clearance mandatory Education:
  • Baccalaureate Degree Required, Masters Preferred Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a corrections.
  • Experience in residential programming

Reentry Technician, Community Corrections 

RS EDEN is currently seeking a full-time Reentry Technician for its Reentry Ashland Program located in St. Paul. In addition, the Reentry Technician is responsible for directly supervising resident actions and movements, thus assuring that all program rules and regulations and contracting sources are followed. The Reentry Technician serves as a liaison between resident and case management staff. He/she informally guides and supports residents and acts as the ongoing contact for residents. The Reentry Technician is responsible for maintaining accountability and a positive atmosphere that promotes client motivation and change. He/she also maintains fire, housekeeping, and sanitation regulations. Based upon agency needs, the Reentry Technician will also be responsible for completing various duties for nonresidential clients. Click HERE for more details.
