Kat will be presenting on Wednesday, October 25th and be sure to join us Wednesday evening at the Hospitality Night to hear her perform.

Join us for the LARGEST all-recovery event in Minnesota!

MRC's annual Walk for Recovery is a National Recovery Month event to express gratitude, convey hope, and to celebrate all in recovery and those who help recovery happen! Bring your family and friends—wheelchairs, strollers, and even the family dog!

There is NO REGISTRATION FEE to participate in the Walk for Recovery!

Start a Walk Team, join a Walk Team or walk as an individual! Find out more about putting a team together and being a Team Captain here

You can fundraise for the Walk as a team member or as an individual. Funds that you or your Walk Team raise will help MRC to continue our mission to strengthen the recovery community through peer-to-peer support, public education, and advocacy.
Fundraising is encouraged, but not required.

2017 Minnesota Summit on Prenatal Substance Use and Infant Exposure

July 27-29, 2017 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, MN.

This year’s theme is Strengthening the Continuum of Wellbeing and Care for Women and Families. The Summit is intended to connect participants and spur active engagement in cross-disciplinary collaboration and coordination of recovery oriented systems of care. While it is not necessary, it is strongly encouraged that those interested in attending the Summit register as part of a community team. For a glimpse at the agenda of this three-day event, download the 2017 Summit Program at a Glance. A more detailed agenda will be available soon. National Summit highlights include:

  • More than 100 breakout sessions to increase your own professional development, taught by experts in the field. 
  • A variety of innovative approaches to learning and collaborating from electronic polling and graphic facilitation to improv comedy and Open Space technology! 
  • A series of national strategy sessions tackling five specific challenges we face as professionals. These will be highly structured conversations designed to yield a few attainable and impactful strategies that can be implemented at the local, state, and/or national levels. 
  • Special sessions focusing on philanthropic organizations which support volunteer engagement in nonprofits, providing a unique opportunity for funders and nonprofit leaders alike to learn more about each other’s perspectives, approaches to collaboration, and challenges.  
  • There will be a volunteer management bookstore on-site for all 3 days of the conference!

2017 Great Lakes Native American Conference

August 9-11, 2017

The GLNAC is put on every year by 5 different U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the Midwest.  This year our Minnesota District has the honor to host the conference along with the assistance of the Eastern District of Michigan, Western District of Michigan, Western District of Wisconsin and Eastern District of Wisconsin offices.  We last hosted this conference at Black Bear Casino in 2011.  The conference this year is scheduled at Mystic Lake Casino on 9 - 11 August 2017.   Our target audience are advocates, prosecutors, law enforcement and legal professionals.  There is no fee to attend this conference.  We currently are finishing up our agenda.

Brain Injury Educational Classes

The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offers a variety of educational classes - including our monthly Brain Injury Basics class - for families, individuals and professionals in the Twin Cities. Our educators can also train your staff on-site at your facility with our Traveling Workshops.

Brain Injury Basics: Introduction to Brain Injury will be held on: September 28 and December 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Brain Injury Basics: Adjustment to Brain Injury will be held on: July 27 and October 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Brain Injury Basics: Caregiving will be held on: August 24 and November 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Registration is required. All classes take place in the Education Center at the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. A $5 donation is appreciated from individuals with brain injury, family members and friends; the fee per session is $25 for professionals.
