Cass County/Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Wellness Court (Walker, MN) Rated "Promising"
A post-sentencing, driving-while-intoxicated (DWI) court intended to guide individuals identified as drug- or alcohol-addicted into treatment, which is designed to reduce criminal behavior and recidivism, enhance public safety, and enhance the well-being of program participants.
This program is rated Promising. Results suggest that after 2 years, DWI court graduates and participants were significantly less likely to be rearrested than non-DWI court participants.

Transit Assistance Program (TAP) offers $1 rides
Ride for $1 per trip – including transfers – until April 10, 2017!
Qualified low-income residents of the Twin Cities: Ride more for less through the new Transit Assistance Program (TAP).
How the pilot program works
- Household member ages 13-64 – not including college students, seniors or persons with disabilities – are eligible to participate in the test program that will offer discounted transit rides, on any bus (express or non-express) or train at any times of day. For those not eligible, other programs may apply.
- Ride all regional buses and light rail for $1, transfers included.
- On Northstar, your card will deduct $1 for the first $3 of the fare. Additional surcharges will be deducted based on distance.
- You can add value online, at any Go-To Card outlet (including all Cub Food stores) or any rail ticket machine.
This pilot program will run for six months (one card per Certified ID).
Hurry – a limited number of cards are available! Participants receive a new TAP Go-To Card with $5 of ride value. That’s five rides for FREE, so don’t wait to sign up! Those who already have a registered Go-To Card can transfer their balance to a TAP card to take advantage of the discount.
You’ll need to agree to take a pre-pilot and post-pilot survey about your experience and register your Go-To Card against loss or theft (registration is free). To speed up your enrollment process, print out and complete the Go-To Card Registration and pre-pilot survey.
Once you have your card, you can add value online, Go-To Card outlets (including all Cub Foods stores), rail ticket machines or by enrolling in our Auto Refill program

Flu Vaccination Clinics for Eligible Veterans Across Central Minnesota
St. Cloud, Minn: A flu shot is an important part of staying healthy during the flu season, and this year the St. Cloud VA Health Care System is making it easier than ever for Veterans to get a flu shot.
Free shots are available during routine appointments, or at one of the many VA flu shot clinics being offered throughout Central Minnesota. Please bring your VA ID card.
Walk-in (no appointment needed) flu shot clinics at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center during October on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon in the west lobby of the main entrance (Bldg. 1).
Veterans attending the flu clinics are encouraged to take care of their buddy and invite a non-enrolled Veteran to attend and to bring a copy of their discharge papers. While non-enrolled Veterans cannot receive a flu shot at these clinics, they can submit an application for enrollment and learn more about VA health care benefits.
All Veterans are encouraged to enroll in the VA health care system. For information on enrolling for VA health care, contact the St. Cloud VA HCS Eligibility Office at (320) 255-6340.
Any changes to the flu vaccination clinic schedule will be announced on the flu shot information line at (320) 255-6444. Stay informed, sign up for email updates at: www.stcloud.va.gov.

St. Cloud VA Health Care System, St. Cloud, MN - Health Focus Thursdays Announced
St. Cloud, Minn: Veterans served by the St. Cloud VA can help themselves stay healthy by attending one or more of a series of health education classes this fall. The classes are scheduled on select Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon, in Building 29, Room 20E, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, located at 4801 Veterans Drive in St. Cloud, MN.
The classes focus on health and well-being and each session covers a unique topic. No appointment or referral is needed, and Veterans may select the classes they want to attend. Co-pays may be required. One-way beneficiary travel reimbursement is available for eligible Veterans.

RS EDEN Reentry Technician - MetroDepartment: Reentry Metro (Community Corrections) Hours: Overnights (10pm-8am) Position Objectives: RS EDEN is currently seeking a full-time Reentry Technician for its Reentry Metro Program located in St. Paul. In addition, the Reentry Technician is responsible for directly supervising resident actions and movements, thus assuring that all program rules and regulations and contracting sources are followed. The Reentry Technician serves as a liaison between resident and case management staff. He/she informally guides and supports residents and acts as the ongoing contact for residents. The Reentry Technician is responsible for maintaining accountability and a positive atmosphere that promotes client motivation and change. He/she also maintains fire, housekeeping, and sanitation regulations. Based upon agency needs, the Reentry Technician will also be responsible for completing various duties for nonresidential clients. |

Office of Justice Programs (OJP)- Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) Recidivism Reduction Grants
The MN JAG Recidivism Reduction grants seek to improve public safety by strengthening collaborative efforts between criminal justice and social services to better serve youth and adults as they return to communities from correctional placements. The intent of this funding is to enhance access to services, supports and resources needed for offenders to succeed in the community.
Applicants are expected to have working relationships between correctional facilities and community agencies so that grant funded reentry programming can begin during incarceration and continue with return to the community. Successful applicants will employ the Risk-Needs-Responsivity Model and will use validated risk assessment and case management tools.
Approximately $2 million in federal Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funds may be available for two year grants ranging from about $100,000 to $300,000.
All applications must be submitted via E-grants, the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) online grants management system.
Applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on December 2, 2016.
